ABOUT US

Why Choose Black Roc?

At Black Roc, we believe that every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where they can heal, grow, and thrive. Our therapeutic children’s residential home in Berkshire are built on a foundation of care, trust, and positive relationships, ensuring that each young person in our care feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

A Therapeutic and Individualised Approach

We recognise that every child carries unique needs, experiences, and aspirations. Our approach is centred around tailored therapeutic interventions that address the specific emotional, psychological, and developmental challenges our young people may face. By collaborating closely with a team of skilled therapists, social workers, and care professionals, we create personalised care plans designed to support emotional regulation, resilience, and long-term well-being.

A Nurturing Environment

Our Berkshire home provides a warm, family-like atmosphere where children feel safe and secure. We prioritise the development of positive relationships between staff and young people, fostering a genuine sense of belonging and stability. Our dedicated team is trained to offer compassionate, round-the-clock support, helping children build self-confidence and develop the healthy coping strategies needed for a brighter future.

Positive Behaviour Support

At Black Roc, our staff are extensively trained in Attachment and Trauma-Informed Behaviour Support, with certifications provided through ‘Proactive Approaches.’ With in-house trainers dedicated to delivering continuous professional development, we ensure our teams are equipped to enhance the lives and daily experiences of our young people.

We are committed to fostering an environment that minimises the need for restrictive interventions, proudly aligning with our mission: #AimingForZero. By integrating trauma-informed, research-based strategies, we ensure our care is grounded in industry best practices. Our training incorporates the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy), alongside the principles of Shame and Attachment, to promote resilience and empower young people to thrive within our nurturing Berkshire communities.
